Hi,

Has anyone had a chip with above marking; No other markings are on the NAND.,

Read ID gives: 0xEC 0XD5 0x14 0xB6 so it looks like a SAMSUNG

I managed to read using K9K4G08 and found FAT sector indicating a 4 GB partition.

Using K9K4G08 and 512 MB bank size I can read ID on 4 banks.

First bank DATA reads ok, other banks read with multiple DIFF errors.

Two first bytes equal to:

Code:
K9HBG08_b2.cfg   2 x 2GB
K9LAG08.cfg      1 x 2GB

Or it can be 4 x 2GB
(use K9LAG08)

Ask user size of flash disk.

Thanks for the reply Sergei,

Sorry, I should have mentioned that there are two chips like this..

The customer does not know the size Smile and sent us only the board. Looking at the Boot sector is shows a FAT32 partition of approx 7,900,000 sectors as so it looks like a 4 GB..

Hi Sergei,

I tried the cfg you receommended however the chip seems to have two banks. The second half of the dump is the same as the first half.

I tried changing the size to 1024 and reading in two banks, however on the second bank on both chips I get the bank mainly 0x30

When reading ID I can read ok on 4 banks, however, splitting the dumps into 512 MB dumps shows different data. So I think that it is split into 2x 1GB banks, but I think it's going to be a guess on the parameters for the second bank.

Hi Sergei,

I have come to the conclusion that the memory stick is a fake 4 gb using 2 x 1 GB chips. Using all possible settings results with the second dump from both chips either identical to the first half, or full of garbage.

Thanks for you help though.. Appreciated.
